At N·PLOT we process the minimum personal data needed to sell you a licence and make it work. Your shows, plots and patches stay on your computer: we never receive or store them.
This is a translation of the Spanish privacy policy. If the two differ, the Spanish version prevails.
1. Data controller
- Owner: Alberto Merino de Vega, who sells the software under the name N·PLOT.
- Address: Calle Virgen de las Cruces, 4, staircase 7, 1st floor, door C, 28041 Madrid (Spain)
- Contact: hola@nplotapp.com
2. What data we process and why
2.1 Buying a licence
Payments are processed through Stripe Managed Payments. Under this model Stripe acts as the merchant of record: it takes the payment, calculates and pays the VAT and issues the invoice. Stripe processes your payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We never receive or store your card details.
From Stripe we receive your name, your email, the plan you bought and Stripe's customer and subscription identifiers, to generate your licence key and keep it up to date with renewals and cancellations.
Legal basis: performance of the licence contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
2.2 Sending the licence key
We send you the key by email to the address used for the purchase, through our email delivery provider.
Legal basis: performance of the contract.
2.3 Licence validation and device limit
When you activate or use a licence, the app contacts our licence server and sends:
- the licence key;
- a random device identifier generated by the app itself (not your computer's serial number or MAC address);
- the platform type reported by the system (for example, "Win32");
- the date and time live sessions start and are active.
With this we check that the licence is valid, apply the number of devices included in your plan and the limit on simultaneous live sessions, and detect a key being shared. If the app cannot reach the server, it records the session locally and reports it once it is back online.
Legal basis: performance of the contract and our legitimate interest in preventing fraudulent use of licences (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
2.4 Data that stays on your device
The shows, plots, DMX patches, PDF reports, name and profile picture you set up in the app are stored only on your computer, or on the device on your local network where N·PLOT runs. DMX traffic (sACN / Art-Net) with your console only travels over your local network. None of this is sent to N·PLOT.
2.5 Support
If you write to us, we use your email and the content of your message to reply.
Legal basis: your consent when you contact us and, if you are a customer, performance of the contract.
2.6 The nplotapp.com website
The website uses no cookies and no analytics or advertising tools. Fonts are served from the website itself, with no calls to third parties. The website's hosting provider may log technical access data (IP address, browser, date) for security purposes.
Legal basis: legitimate interest in the operation and security of the website.
3. Who we share data with
We do not sell or pass on your data. Only the providers needed to deliver the service are involved:
- Stripe (Ireland / USA): payments, invoicing and taxes.
- Railway (USA): hosting of the licence server and database.
- Resend (USA): sending the email with your licence key.
- Cloudflare (USA): hosting of the website and of the installer downloads.
Some providers are in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider has signed up to it, or on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
We may also disclose data to authorities where the law requires us to.
4. How long we keep it
- Licence data and linked devices: while the licence is active and, after that, for the limitation period of any possible legal liability.
- Live sessions: deleted automatically when the session ends or stops reporting.
- Records of offline sessions: up to 12 months.
- Support emails: for as long as needed to handle your request.
5. Your rights
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to hola@nplotapp.com. If we erase the data of an active licence, the licence can no longer be validated.
If you think we have not handled your request properly, you can lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos) or with the data protection authority of your country.
6. Mobile apps
The N·PLOT apps for Android and iOS process the same data described in section 2.3 and connect to the N·PLOT server on your local network that you set up. They contain no advertising, no cross-app tracking and no third-party analytics.
7. Minors
N·PLOT is a professional tool and is not intended for children under 14.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with its update date. If the change is significant, we will let you know by email.
